The January 2026 fires in our Shire have had a profound impact on the club’s financial year. We made an early decision to support the local community by setting up a voucher program. This has been a resounding success. So far, we have collected $85,618 in donations. Of this we have disbursed $59,882 so far, including $58,375 in vouchers.

We have issued 876 vouchers, 89% of which have been redeemed, 31% for hardware,
30% for fuel, 17% for groceries and 12% other items.

The aims of the voucher program were to directly support fire victims and to help support local businesses by restricting voucher use to local businesses.
The board has made the decision to continue with vouchers at least until the end of June 2026. We are also investigating other avenues of support, including debit cards and direct deposits. We are still expecting further donations from other Rotary Clubs and from a share of profit from the Pro Rodeo.

Overall, our club remains in a very strong financial position, both in terms of balance sheet and cash flow. We are currently $2,260 ahead of where we were at 1st July 2025.
Once again the club has done an excellent job of distributing the funds we raised from various activities.
Income for the year was been sourced from:
• Our Fire Fund, where donations have almost reached $86,000.
All of this money will go to fire victims.
• By the time we close the books for the 2026 Art Show we will be able to show a profit of around $13,000.
• We received a $5,000 grant from Tourism NE for Dindi Daze.
• Wood raffles continue to be a reliable source of income. We ran two wood raffles in winter 2025 which made a profit of $4,220.
• We normally make $2,000 - $3,000 from our share of Cycle Dindi profits.
Cycle Dindi was cancelled in 2026 due to the January fires.
• Murrindindi Shire provided grants for Dindi Daze, Purple Friday (Rotary Against Family Violence) and the Art Show with a total value of $9,500.
• We raised $336 for ‘Lift the Lid’ in collection tins and turned this into a $1,000 donation.

• $300 to the Carer Support Group.
• $1,000 to Angel Flight.
• $600 to Alexandra Events for Christmas carols.
• A total of almost $15,000 from Youth for a range of projects including school awards and Little Aths.
• $500 each to ASC and the Football/Netball club for help at the Art Show.
