On Wednesday 21 January Alexandra Rotarians will start distributing vouchers to those adversely affected by the fires and in need.
We are at the woodies behind the car wash in Alexandra. The $100 vouchers can be used in Alexandra. A list of stores accepting these will be given on the day. This will change over time. Rotary is here to support you.
We plan to run this from Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm and on Saturday morning 9am to noon.
Essential list for drop offs:
- Fuel cards
- Foodworks cards
- New or almost new clothing
- Rakes & shovels
- Belts
- New or almost new work gloves
Please hold onto items that will be needed once homes are being rebuilt.
Clothing direct to Op shops who are giving these to adversely affected people

Bushfire Information Hubs now open
We know many in our community are facing a tough time after the fires. If you need help accessing financial support payments or connecting with other services, please call the Emergency Recovery Victoria Hotline on 1800 560 760 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. Press 9 for an interpreter or call TIS on 131 450.
Council has also opened up Bushfire Information Hubs at different locations across our Shire, where Council staff and agency representatives are assisting people with accessing relief payments and linking them in with other support services.
Alexandra and Yea libraries are opening outside of their usual times from 10.00 am - 4.00 pm on Saturday and Sunday this weekend.
Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) representatives will be at Yea Library until Sunday (at this stage) to help with relief payments. Yea Community House is also providing additional support for anyone who needs it.
Over the coming weeks, we hope to have representatives from the DFFH and other agencies available at Alexandra and Yea Libraries and Yarck Hall to provide extra help and advice.
We're also supporting the many locally-led relief centres with laptops, internet access (if not already established) and resources to support residents in Yarck, Fawcett, Highlands and Terip Terip access the services they need.
Please share this information with anyone who may benefit. We’re here to help.
