So far $6000 issued as fuel vouchers mostly to keep generators going.
$9250 in vouchers to those adversely affected and in need. These can only be spent in town.
However, those affected and unable to leave homes  have asked others to get  vouchers, then buy what they need and deliver back to them.
We have given  $300  to each of our coffee providers for pay forward for emergency workers with a promise to top up as necessary.
             Rotary Vouchers
Alexandra Rotarians are distributing vouchers to those adversely affected by the fires and in need.
Those receiving the vouchers ($200) can decide what they need. Discretion to double to $400. These are accepted by the local Alexandra Apparel, Alexandra Butcher, Alexandra Community Pharmacy, Alexandra Newsagency, Alexandra Tyre power, Bedrock Garden Supplies, Bowds Alexandra Motorcycles & Machinery, Country Tech, Cowboy Co-op, Davenport’s Auto Elec, Dindi Water Cartage, Dindi Western Clothing, Elysian Hairdresser, Embling Rural, Foodworks Lyand Farm and Industrial, Pump Shop, Simpson’s Fuel, The Grain Store, Yenken’s Hardware.
These vouchers not only help those affected but help keep local businesses continue . The school holidays and the Australia Day weekend were sources of essential income for local businesses. Tourism virtually disappeared.  National and state parks closed, people evacuated and major roads into our area closed to non residents. In the last few days the highways open to nonresidents  to Alexandra.
