An interesting visit to the Alexandra and District Standard office. Karen Morrison explained that they employ 8 locals. Her 16 years as manager has been a varied experience. Looking at the vast number of machines used over the years was eyeopening. Three journalists contribute and without advertising there would be no local paper. So support their advertisers. When the paper was to be produced in colour they disn't have the ability to do this locally so now printed in Wangaratta. The paper is produced on computer in Alexandra and sent to be printed.
