Financial Report 

Interim Treasurer’s Report 2018/19 (at 12th June 2019).

Rotary’s financial year ends at 30th June, so we are only able to present interim results at this point. The complete financial statement for 2018/19 will be presented to the Board as soon as the financial year is complete and to the AGM later in the year.

The club has had a busy and successful year so far. The highlights of the 2018/19 financial year have included:

  • Around $18,000 profit from the very successful Easter Art Show.
  • A donation of $1,040 from the Murrindindi Beanie Festival, which was used to help the Community Firewood Project. In winter 2018 we delivered a total of 70 cubic metres of wood to 15 households in need of assistance. Firewood deliveries are underway again in 2019.
  • We raised almost $3,800 from two firewood raffles in winter 2018.
  • The Alexandra & Eildon Brass Band donated $1,100 to Rotary.
  • Jam sales have raised $511.
  • Rotary provided and catered for two free community events, Australia Day and Music in the Park and ran Lift the Lid (mental health) and the Bowel Scan programmes.
  • Rotary Alexandra co-operated with the Yea and Mansfield Rotary Clubs at Cycle Dindi in April. A combined donation of $4,000 from the three clubs will go to OEG for their outdoor programmes for young men and women.
  • Bilbies manufactured by members of the Eildon & District Woodworkers have raised $430 in 2018/19. We were able to add this amount to sales carried over from the previous year and make a donation to the Royal Children’s Hospital of $1,410.
  • Rotary Alexandra supported local youth with around $2,000 provided for Encouragement Awards at Alexandra Secondary College, $500 to the Alice Sloan Foundation and $3,150 to send a student to the National Science Summer School.
  • The club received a grant of $5,500 to put towards the cost of a 4 cubic metre tipping trailer that is already being used for the firewood project and will be used for a green waste project when it gets off the ground.
  • Rotary donated $5,000 to the Kellock Lodge ‘We Care’ appeal.
  • We spent $916.30 on access ramps for shops in Grant St. Funding for the ramps came from the Cathedral Cluster Phoenix Fund.
  • Rotary supported Shelterbox with a donation of $1,000, sent $250 to the Rotary International polio eradication project and donated $835 to REAL.
